Opportunities at Hollings Marine Laboratory
Overview
Hollings Marine Laboratory (HML) offers many opportunities for scientists and students to be involved in research focusing on environmental chemistry, ecotoxicology, marine genomics, biological and chemical oceanography, estuarine ecology, physiology of marine organisms, marine environmental specimen banking, and aquaculture.
Students
While the HML does not confer academic degrees, graduate students enrolled at the College of Charleston or the Medical University of South Carolina may conduct research at the HML if their advisor is a Principal Scientist at the Laboratory.
Undergraduate students can apply to conduct summer research within one of the many internship programs offered by the HML Partners.
Scientists
Researchers wishing to work at the HML should check for job availability through one of the HML’s five Partners.
Also, established scholars wishing to conduct research at the HML, in cooperation with an HML sponsor, can apply to the Ernest F. Hollings Visiting Scholar Program.
